SUMMARY:How to Tell Better Stories That Inspire Action
DESCRIPTION:Discover how intentional storytelling can shift perspectives\, shape conversations\, and inspire people to take action.\n\n\nThe stories we tell influence what people notice\, how they interpret what they see\, and what they choose to do next. \nAt the October Social Media Breakfast Houston\, Grace Rodriguez will explore how framing\, perspective\, and repetition affect the way audiences respond to messages. We will examine the stories we tell ourselves\, the assumptions we make about others\, and how social media algorithms and AI can reinforce the perspectives that we and our audiences already give our attention. \nThis conversation is designed to help marketers\, communicators\, creators\, business owners\, nonprofit leaders\, and community builders become more intentional about the stories they tell and the responses those stories invite. \nBy the end of the session\, attendees will be able to: \n\nSee how algorithms push audiences into narrower content bubbles and how stronger stories can reach across them.\nRecognize how the same message can land differently with different audiences.\nWork with the algorithm without losing your brand voice or integrity.\nUse framing and perspective to shape what your audience thinks\, feels\, shares\, or does next.\nAsk better questions before creating\, posting\, sharing\, or reacting to content.\nAttendees will also work through a short exercise to identify an idea they care about\, where they have influence\, and one story they could tell differently.\n\nREGISTRATION \nSpace is limited. Please reserve your spot in advance so we can plan for breakfast and seating. \nSPEAKER \nGrace Rodriguez\, Executive Director\, Impact HUB Houston \nGrace Rodriguez helps do-gooders do greater. Whether through helping people tackle problems and get support\, to helping startups and organizations connect and grow more effectively\, to helping community and ecosystem builders align efforts and strengthen local+global relationships\, Grace has built a life around helping people transform their ideas-worth-spreading into real world impact for the greater good. \nWebsite \nLinkedin \nFacebook \nInstagram \nDETAILS \n📅 Date & Time: Friday\, October 9\, 2026\, 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM (9:00 AM online) \n📍 Location: The Ion\, 4201 Main Street\, Houston\, TX 77002 \n🚗 Parking: Red Lot– Enter 4203 Fannin Street for direct access. SUMMARY:BakerRipley Ambassador Program
DESCRIPTION:You are already making a difference in your community. Let us help you make an even greater impact.\n\n\nAre you the person your neighbors\, friends\, clients\, church members\, or community members come to when they need help\, information\, or resources? \nCommunity leaders are often the first people someone turns to when they are looking for support. But even the most connected leaders don’t always know about all the resources available in our community. \nThat’s why we created the BakerRipley Ambassador Program. \nThe BakerRipley Ambassador Program is an interactive experience designed to help community leaders\, advocates\, volunteers\, and connectors learn more about BakerRipley and the resources available across our programs—so you can become a trusted voice and confidently connect more people to opportunities that can make a difference in their lives. \nWhy become a BakerRipley Ambassador?\nBecause being a community leader isn’t about knowing all the answers. It’s about knowing where to connect people when they need support. \nDuring this session\, you’ll meet BakerRipley team members\, learn how our programs work\, understand who can benefit from them\, and most importantly\, learn how to connect someone to the right resource. \nOur first Ambassador Program session will spotlight: \nEntrepreneur ConnectionDiscover resources available to entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners\, including business education\, coaching\, access to capital\, and other opportunities. \nCivic EngagementLearn how BakerRipley helps community members strengthen their voices\, participate in civic life\, and become more engaged in their communities. \nLearning & Innovation CentersExplore the programs\, services\, classes\, and opportunities available through BakerRipley’s Learning & Innovation Centers. \nWho should attend?\nThis experience is for anyone passionate about helping others and strengthening their community—including community leaders\, neighborhood advocates\, faith leaders\, volunteers\, educators\, nonprofit partners\, small business leaders\, and people who naturally serve as trusted connectors for others. \nYou don’t need a formal title to be a community leader. If people trust you\, come to you for information\, or look to you for guidance\, this experience is for you. \nBe our voice in the community.\nYou may not personally need every BakerRipley resource you learn about—but someone you know might. \nAs a BakerRipley Ambassador\, you can help more people discover resources they may not know exist and connect them to programs and opportunities that can help them move forward. \nYour voice. Your connections. Greater community impact. \n📅 Thursday\, October 29\, 2026⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM📍 BakerRipley Central – East End Learning Center \nSessions will be offered simultaneously in English and Spanish. \nSpace is limited to 25 participants per session. \nJoin the BakerRipley Ambassador Program and become part of a network of community leaders helping connect more people to resources\, opportunities\, and each other.
