Clean Power Hub: Supporting the People Driving the Clean Power Transition

June 18 @ 08:00 - 09:30 CDT

The Clean Power Hub is a new effort to amplify and accelerate the capacity needed to integrate more clean power into power systems globally

About this Event

COVID-19 is an unprecedented global crisis, with sweeping impacts and repercussions. In the power sector, it is making already scarce, highly-valuable capacity building and technical assistance resources even more challenging to deliver and utilize—at a time when fast, effective knowledge-sharing and action related to the clean power transition is more important than ever.

As the world learns to operate within this new, post-COVID landscape, new tools and approaches for knowledge-sharing, capacity building and technical assistance on clean power are needed. Now more than ever, power sector practitioners working to safely and reliably meet growing electricity needs with clean power need easy, efficient and practical access to the world’s best experts, resources and tools.

The Clean Power Hub is a new effort to amplify and accelerate the human and institutional capacity needed to achieve global clean power goals. The transition to clean power requires work from a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, system operators, civil society, and clean power developers and investors. The Clean Power Hub meets these clean power stakeholders where their needs are, and helps them get their work done, by combining (i) the best international expertise on clean power and (ii) the latest innovations in online knowledge-sharing and capacity development. The value of such an approach is apparent today given the constraints created by COVID-19, but it will also be relevant in the future, as it helps existing capacity building efforts serve on-the-ground partners more cost-effectively and with fewer travel-related emissions.

The Clean Power Hub will launch in Q3 2020—and your input is vital. This session will feature perspectives from leading global experts on how clean power capacity building is changing post-COVID, and how tools like the Clean Power Hub will continue to support your work on the clean power transition in the age of COVID-19 and beyond. It will also serve as a workshop that will provide you the opportunity to shape the direction of this exciting new tool. By participating in this session, you will join a global network of clean power professionals and gain first access to the Clean Power Hub when it launches later this year.
