Coexisting with COVID-19: Why Science Policy Matters More than Ever

August 27, 2020 @ 12:00 - 13:00 CDT

Let’s talk about science policy in the age of COVID-19 with Interim Executive Director of Evidence for Democracy Kimberly Girling!

In this BBL, we welcome Evidence for Democracy, a non-profit that promotes the use of evidence in government decision-making. We’ll share a bit about what we do, and discuss why science policy and science advocacy matter in light of COVID-19. We will also share some tips on how folks can get involved in advocacy.

Kimberly Girling is the Interim Executive Director at Evidence for Democracy, a non-profit organization promoting the use of evidence in government decisions. She has a PhD in Neuroscience, and has worked on drug policy, harm reduction, human enhancement, science communication and more.

Brown Bag Lunches are Impact Hub Ottawa’s weekly lunch & learns led by Hubbers, for members and non-members alike. Topics vary each week, but you’re always sure to learn something new!

Can’t make it at 12 PM? Register and we’ll email you a recording of the presentation to watch at your convenience.

Tickets are free

We have removed our ‘Helping Hand Donation’ ticketing option and offer the following suggestions should you wish to donate, instead, to an organization working to support anti-racism in Canada:
