If you’ve ever needed to open a bank account, apply for benefits, travel by plane, buy a car, get married, or rent a home, you’ve likely needed an identity card of some sort to prove that you are who you say you are. In fact, your identity is one of the most valuable assets you have. Right now, you probably have several things in your wallet that demonstrate your identity, such as a driver’s license, credit cards, debit cards, and so on.

Upon completing this workshop, participants should be able to…

• Learn how to identify the signs of identity theft and fraud.
• Examine different types of identity theft and fraud.
• Identify strategies to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
• Review the laws and regulations that protect consumers from identity theft and fraud.
