Greentown Labs Houston Location Announcement

Greentown Labs is expanding to Houston, TX to accelerate the energy transition in the energy capital of the world. Greentown Labs Houston—the city’s first climatetech and cleantech startup incubator—will provide more than 40,000 sq. ft. of prototyping lab and office space for more than 50 early-stage startups. In partnership with the City of Houston and world-leading organizations headquartered here, Greentown Houston is projected to open in Spring 2021.
We hope you’ll join us on Sept. 22 to learn where our incubator will be located and how this location will help us serve the city’s climatetech community. The event will include remarks from Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Greentown Labs CEO Emily Reichert, and other founding partners of Greentown Houston that are supporting this new space for the cleantech ecosystem!

About Our Speakers:
Susan Davenport serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Economic Development Officer at the Greater Houston Partnership. The Partnership is a 1,100-member business partnership encompassing an 11-county greater Houston region. In this role, Susan leads the organization’s domestic and international economic development efforts and provides assistance to companies considering expanding, relocating or investing in the greater Houston region.
Mayor Sylvester Turner was elected in December 2015 and is serving his second four-year term. He is Houston’s 62nd mayor. Since taking office, Mayor Turner has expertly managed significant challenges facing the nation’s fourth-largest city, including budget deficits, homelessness, and natural disasters such as Hurricane Harvey. He is currently leading Houston’s response to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Amid national unrest and calls for improving community and police relations, the mayor signed an executive order restricting the use of force and created a Task Force on Policing Reforms.
Darryl Willis is an energy executive with 25 years of experience as a transformational corporate leader. Extensive P&L and operational experience in domestic and international markets within the oil and gas industry. Proven track record of delivering growth and improving profitability for businesses ranging in size from $1B to $5B in revenues, across the United States, Russia, Asia, and Africa in onshore and offshore environments. Known for being an inspiring leader who excels in leading teams through crisis environments.
Minas Apelian joined CertainTeed Corporation in 2013 following tenures at J.M. Huber and Mobil Oil Corporation. His experience in General Management, Operations, Research & Development, and Innovation informs his visionary pragmatism. Today he leads and shapes CertainTeed’s innovation strategy and launched a customer-focused platform approach to R&D for the business.
