Lessons Learned in Scaling Agile to 1000+ People Via a Grassroots Approach

February 15 @ 18:00 - 20:00 CST

This is the story of scaling Agile, while staying true to the Manifesto that started an incredible movement.

The Agile Manifesto is 23 years young this week; and what was once a small shop, niche process has been replaced by “we’re Agile”; everywhere. So as larger organizations adopted Agile through their companies across globally dispersed teams, the practice of scaling Agile became commonplace. In 2008, I led a small engineering shop of fifty engineers through an Agile transformation. Post acquisition in 2011, our team of Agilists were charged with bringing greater efficiency to our new parent. This is the story of scaling Agile, while staying true to the Manifesto that started an incredible movement.

About the speaker:

I am a passionate technologist with over 30 years of technology legacy now spearheading technology initiatives at Stead Impact Ventures. I’ve held various leadership roles, including vice president positions at IHS Markit, where I led large teams in product development and played a pivotal role in aligning resources with business priorities. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed driving organizational transformations, introducing Agile methodologies, DevOps initiatives, and fostering a strong engineering culture. My end goal is always increased productivity, improved quality, and successful organizational growth.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed leadership roles in venture-backed companies with a clear focus on high-value exit strategies through implementing successful commercial software solutions that leverage multiple branches of machine learning.

My belief is amazing products are created by empowering a great culture with great technology.
