Pitching your business idea can be tough. Designing a “perfect” pitch deck can be even more tough. Don’t fret! Our experts at the GW Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship will show you how to craft and design a sound presentation and pitch deck for you to impress your colleagues, peers, and judges at the GW New Venture Competition.

Learn more about the design do’s and don’ts, tips and tricks for best in class slide design, and how to create an engaging slide deck that will interest any audience and help reinforce your pitch presentation in class, at work, or pitching for investment or at a competition.

About the Presenter – Scott Stein

Scott Stein is the Associate Director of Student Entrepreneurship Programs at the George Washington University and is the head of marketing and digital design for the GW New Venture Competition, recently ranked as the 3rd largest collegiate entrepreneurship competition in the US.

Scott Stein is a social entrepreneur, former Executive Director, and UX designer with more than a decade of experience and achievement with strategic management, product and service innovation, fund development, and marketing in the social enterprise, political, for-profit, and nonprofit sectors.

Formerly, he was National Director of Social Enterprise Development at Main Street Alliance and shaped MSA’s future through sparking, identifying, and testing scalable venture opportunities to build financially sustainable growth strategies.

Additionally, Scott has focused on bringing innovative approaches and design thinking to tackle challenges for Ben & Jerry’s and state governments to create innovative solutions to challenges ranging from youth homelessness to poverty. Scott was part owner of food startup Levedoce, directing the sales, marketing, and digital strategy.

Based on his work in the field of social entrepreneurship Scott was selected to participate in the prestigious Schusterman Foundation REALITY Global program in 2015. He was also the recipient of the NYU President’s Service Award for outstanding achievement.

Scott has a MPA from New York University, Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, a BA from Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges, and a UX / UI Design Certificate from the Pratt Institute.
