Risky Business: How to Protect Your Businesses or Nonprofit From Legal Risk

September 22 @ 12:00 - 13:00 CDT

Risk is an essential part of growth, but legal risks can have serious consequences. So, what can you do to protect yourself?

Legal risks, if not properly accounted for, can have serious repercussions for businesses and organizations. Join us at this Brown Bag Lunch, where we’ll learn about scalable and practical solutions that can be implemented to protect your business or organization from legal risk.

Andrew Paterson began his legal career at one of Canada’s largest, full-service law firms, practicing in the commercial litigation group. He then developed a general civil litigation practice, representing clients in the Ottawa region and across Eastern Ontario as a sole-practitioner. He subsequently joined a boutique law firm, where he practiced international trade and procurement law, primarily before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal. Andrew brings diverse experience and a reputation for outstanding client service to Durant Barristers.

Join this Brown Bag Lunch to hear from lawyer and Impact Hub Ottawa Legal Coach, Andrew Paterson. Learn how to protect your small business or non-profit from legal risks, and receive guidance on topics including:

  • Legal dispute resolution,
  • Coordinating workplace investigations,
  • Litigating civil matters, and
  • Legal risk management assessments.

Brown Bag Lunches are Impact Hub Ottawa’s weekly lunch & learns led by Hubbers, for members and non-members alike. Topics vary each week, but you’re always sure to learn something new!
