Sea Turtle Saturday

The Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council presents the 16th Annual Sea Turtle Saturday symposium.
Presenters include Kimber De Salvo Anderson, Gulf Coast Program Coordinator for Turtle Island Restoration Network (TIRN) and Dr. Chris Marshall, Director of the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research at A&M Galveston.
Kimber will discuss current work TIRN is conducting in the Gulf of Mexico, how you can get involved in ocean conservation on a daily basis, and will present a new app to aid in sea turtle conservation on the Texas coast in collaboration with Texas A&M University’s Plotkin Lab.
Dr. Marshall will present the Research and Conservation Programs of the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research. This will include a summary of their in-water satellite tagging work, Sea Aggie Sea Turtle Patrol, Sea Turtle Stranding Network and the current and future sea turtle rehabilitation hospital.
