Lone Star Energy Bar: Earth Day Meetup

Join Greentown Labs and members of the Texas Innovation Ecosystem as we share small acts of courage and social sustainability while working from home.

This Energy Bar on Wednesday, April 22nd.  We will be hosting a meetup as a respite from the week to meet with your friends, neighbors, and peers who are entrepreneurs, investors, students, and friends of cleantech. Our goal is to provide the broader energy community a social avenue to connect with those we may not see on Zoom during the daily rush, but whom we still want to know are doing well.   We will be using a virtual app called Remo which is conducive to socializing online.

Please come to share how you are adjusting to working from home, your recent victories, or your own personal act of courage in supporting the fight against COVID.  Come for 10 minutes between meetings or the whole event, we are here to support you.  Don’t let physical isolation lead to social isolation, and invite a friend.

5:30 PM Panel: Social Sustainability (Est. 45 Minutes)

No Earth Day event would be complete without talking about sustainability–especially ensuring our community can get the resources it needs to get through these times.  At 5:30 pm we will host a short panel with three entrepreneurs who have reoriented their businesses to address needs created by this pandemic which they could uniquely fulfill.

Speakers:

About EnergyBar:

EnergyBar is Greentown Labs’ networking event devoted to helping people in clean technology meet and discusses innovations in energy technology. Entrepreneurs, investors, students, and ‘friends of cleantech,’ are invited to attend, meet colleagues, and expand our growing regional clean technology community.

Our attendees typically span a variety of disciplines within energy, efficiency, and renewables. In general, if you’re looking for a job in cleantech or energy, trying to expand your network, or perhaps thinking about starting your own energy-related company this is the event for you. Expect to have conversations about issues facing advanced and renewable energy technologies and ways to solve our most pressing energy problems.

Although we’ve hosted networking events for 10-20 folks with success, this will be our first event at scale.  While we’ll be using a proven platform to facilitate virtual networking this will be a first for us.  Suggested dress is business casual–but we all understand you too may be net-working from home with all the quirks that includes.

Hope to see you there!
