Human Resources and Payroll 101
For early-stage product founders, understanding how to manage your people— hiring, payroll, compliance— can mean the difference between chaos and sustainable growth. If your HR and payroll systems are shaky, risks multiply, employees lose trust, and days feel chaotic. Are you ready to gain the clarity and tools needed to build HR structure and avoid costly missteps?
The Nasdaq Center is excited to be joined by Stacy Litteral, Partner at BPM, for a session designed specifically for founders who are ready to build strong back‑office systems so they can scale with confidence. From day one, you’ll know exactly what to put in place—accurate payroll setup, proper staff vs. contractor classification, labor law compliance, benefit and compensation planning, and vendor tools that make your job easier, not harder.
Key Takeaways:
- Learn what documents, systems, and classifications you need to avoid legal and financial risk.
- Understand how to create onboarding, time‑off, benefits, and performance routines that can grow as your team grows.
- Walk away knowing when to DIY, when to use vendors, and which systems will support both today’s operations and future scale.
OUR SPECIAL GUEST
Stacy Litteral
Partner at BPM
Stacy has over 20 years of Human Resources and people strategy experience. She brings depth and breadth of experience to the team, having worked within large corporations, as well as a small nonprofit organization – developing and driving business strategy and leading diverse teams to successful outcomes.
She has an extensive background in all areas of HR including compensation, benefits, employee relations and training, however her passion lies in the area of performance management and strategic alignment. Stacy believes no matter how large or small an organization is, people are the foundation of all success, and that it is necessary to connect individuals to organizational goals in order to meet and exceed objectives. She also believes alignment between employee’s personal values and goals with those of the organization – and effective dialogue around those shared goals – is a critical component.
Stacy led the initiative to bring to market BPM Link, a strategic performance tool that provides organizations and their employees an opportunity to align on strategic initiatives through a flexible and convenient web based platform. BPM Link brings together a coaching framework, transparency, regular feedback and accountability, in a simple and appealing way. Through the use of the tool, businesses can become agile, collaborative, inclusive, values driven and develop a unique and sustainable culture.
