FemTech Book Club – B*tch by Lucy Cooke

May 29 @ 18:00 - 19:30 CDT

Monthly Book Club and Q&A to discuss topics and questions inspired by books and authors from the world of women’s health and wellness.

Join FemTech Focus at our monthly FemTech Book Club hosted by FemFans Susan Stover and Karen Wells!

On the last Wednesday of every month at 7pm ET, we’ll be discussing a book or other media from the world of women’s health and wellness.

Whether you’ve read the book in entirety, skimmed a few chapters, or are just curious about the topics included, all are welcome for thoughtful conversation, Q&A sessions, and an opportunity to engage with the FemTech community.

Bring your favorite drinks or snacks. Zoom video is optional! This will be an informal, relaxed, and nourishing session. You will have an opportunity chat with other attendees on Zoom.

For this month’s FemTech Book Club we’ll be discussing Bitch: On the Female of the Species by Lucy Cooke.

Since Charles Darwin, evolutionary biologists have been convinced that the males of the animal kingdom are the interesting ones—dominating and promiscuous, while females are dull, passive, and devoted.

In Bitch, Cooke tells a new story. Whether investigating same-sex female albatross couples that raise chicks, murderous mother meerkats, or the titanic battle of the sexes waged by ducks, Cooke shows us a new evolutionary biology, one where females can be as dynamic as any male. This isn‘t your grandfather’s evolutionary biology. It’s more inclusive, truer to life, and, simply, more fun.

IMPT: Please register for the event on Eventbrite.
