Reimagine Education in the Time of COVID-19

This virtual panel will bring young social innovators together to talk about digital divide from global perspectives and their actions addressing this issue, and to reimagine education in the post-COVID-19 world.

Digital education divide refers to inequalities in access to technology as well as the imbalances in resources and skills needed to effectively participate as a digital citizen. It’s a problem in many regions for many years. COVID-19 is indeed exposing the digital education divide. The global COVID-19 pandemic has forced schools across the world to close, impacting more than 1.5 billion children and youth learners, according The United Nations Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). School had switched to online teaching, and a lack of digital devices left millions of poor children out of school.

Various immediate actions are being taken at different levels to address the digital education divide. This time, we will bring 4 young people from different countries together to share their thoughts about education in COVID-19 and their actions to bridge education divide. As Professor Klaus Schwab once said during a Global Shapers Town Hall Meeting “Young people and better use of technology are the two main drivers to help us reimagine, redesign and rebuild a new system”, this virtual roundtable will offer an oppotunity to help us reimagine education in a post-COVID-19 world.

Speakers:

  • Miguel Solera Martín (Global Sharper, Madrid Hub)
  • Sinmisola Nojimu-Yusuf (Global Sharper, LagosHub)
  • Liu HE (Co-Founder of Project Guangyuan)
  • Wan ZUO (Co-Founder of Project Guangyuan)

Moderater: Luona Cai (Global Shaper, Shanghai I Hub)

How Covid -19 affects International Supply Chains

Analysing supply chain developments and mitigation strategies, risks & responsible business conduct

With COVID-19 disrupting international production and trade, organisations with international supply chains are facing major challenges. These challenges grow in complexity when sustainable and responsible business conduct is top priority within the organisation.

In this online event on May 12, a group of peer professionals will unite to analyse current and expected supply chain developments and mitigation strategies building upon their own experiences. What challenges are these organisations facing and what ideas are out there to overcome these? How can we ensure responsible business in these challenging times? Together, we aim to identify and exchange strategies to strengthen our supply and value chains and thereby safeguard the continuity of business.
