Gabriela De Luca has been working remotely since 2013 with different industries and companies, including Shopify, Andela and Round Pegs and is Impact Hub Ottawa’s Remote Work, People & Culture coach. Throughout these years, she has used tools and has developed methods and rituals that keep the human connection within the virtual environment. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business, an MSc in HR and an MSc in Philosophy of Human Sciences.

About the Series

Young people make real, positive change happen and when it comes to tackling big challenges, like the climate crisis, youth have stepped up to take action and create opportunities. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, young people from around the country are helping advance progress towards the 2030 SDG Agenda and climate justice.

In this new event series, called “How are (YOU)th showing up for climate action?” hosted in partnership with Youth Climate Lab, Alliance 2030, and RAD, we’ll hear from youth climate leaders about making green jobs accessible for all, creating the future of food, radical collaboration, and building meaningful partnerships.

About the Speakers

Rae is a Master’s student at Carleton University, studying contaminant transport in permafrost. Their work deals with the intersection of Indigenous knowledge, community governance, climate change, and environmental remediation. Rae’s passion for the environment is what drove them to pursue a career in science. They actively seek out opportunities to educate others, using their environmental and scientific knowledge in community outreach settings.

Shivani is a graduate student at the University of Alberta pursuing a Master of Science in Health Promotion and Sociobehavioural Sciences. Shivani believes that collaboration and knowledge sharing within the community builds a sustainable foundation for social action. She incorporates her public health background into climate change and environmental sustainability work and aims to share tangible avenues for climate action at every level to inspire others to get involved.
